The main focus of the laboratory is to study new molecular mechanisms involved in glial biogenesis in health and disease. We are elucidating the role of neddylation, a post-translational modification similar to ubiquitination in oligodendroglia and astrocyte development and its potential use as therapeutic target in CNS diseases. The research involves in vitro, in vivo and human sample studies.
